Dedication and commitment to the growth of the South African economy has been acknowledged through numerous prestigious awards. Below are some of the awards awarded to the DDM Conference attendants who take initiative and drive the prosperity of the South African business landscape.

 

 

Purpose

To drive the success of the District Development Model where all three spheres of government coordinate and integrate development plans, align budgets and mobilise the capacity and resources of government and civil society, including business, labour and community, in pursuit of inclusive growth and job creation.

Objectives

The DDM awards seek to marshal all municipalities to deliver excellent service delivery by encouraging them to implement the DDM principles. This is done by increasing the number of role models, custodians, advocates and champions who will break the silo system and promote one plan, one budget and aligned implementation as an operating model in government in the Republic of South Africa.

The DDM Awards are open to all 257 municipalities (local, metropolitan and district) in South Africa. Mayors are custodians, Speakers are advocates and Municipal Managers are champions of the DDM planning, budgeting and implementation in municipalities.
Criteria for adjudication of the award entries include the following:
4.1 Pay an entry fee of R1 399 per entry;
4.2 Submit the entry before the closing date and time;
4.3 Provide irrefutable and verifiable evidence for the success in the specific category;
